Technical Implementation Guide

Transaction Requirements

• Only Payment transactions are observed and processed by Thorchain.
• All inbound/outbound XRP‐chain interactions must use a standard Payment transaction.
• Vault Configuration: Quotes expire after 60 seconds (do not cache)

Address Handling

• Classic “r…” addresses only (X-addresses require off-chain conversion to classic + destination tag)

Memo Field

• Thorchain reads only the first Memo in the Memos array. (max 250 chars)
• Routing/refund data must fit within 250 chars limit

Fees & Limits

• On-chain fees: XRPL base fee (~0.00001 XRP) + THORChain outbound fee (min $1)
• Minimums:
  • ≥1 XRP must remain in new addresses (auto-handled by SwapKit)
  • Dust threshold: Transactions <1 XRP are not processed
