SwapKit TRON Integration: Cross-Chain Swaps via NEAR Intents & THORChain

SwapKit TRON integration with NEAR Intents

TRON joins the cross-chain future.

We’re excited to announce the SwapKit TRON integration, making $TRX and $USDT on TRON available for seamless cross-chain swaps via both NEAR Intents and (very soon) THORChain.

With SwapKit, developers, wallets, and dApps can now unlock native cross-chain liquidity between TRON and major blockchains like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP Ledger, Base, Dogecoin, and more — without wrapped tokens or centralized bridges.

About TRON

Launched in 2017 by Justin Sun, TRON is a high-performance blockchain known for its speed, scalability, and low-cost transactions. It powers one of the largest global communities in Web3, supporting millions of daily active users and thousands of decentralized applications.

By combining TRON’s transaction efficiency with SwapKit’s multi-provider routing across NEAR Intents and THORChain, the SwapKit TRON integration delivers frictionless cross-chain interoperability at scale.

What the SwapKit TRON Integration Means for Developers

Native TRON swaps — swap $TRX and $USDT on TRON for BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, DOGE, BASE, and more without wrapped assets.
Multi-provider support — live today via both NEAR Intents and THORChain, giving integrators more routes and better redundancy.
Unified API — SwapKit abstracts away TRON-specific requirements, including AML screening and fee management.
Plug-and-play wallet support — easily enable TRON-supported wallets like TronLink, Ctrl Wallet, Ledger, and more.
Fast integration — deploy cross-chain swaps in <100 lines of code.

How It Works

  1. Visit docs.swapkit.dev to review TRON support in the SDK.
  2. Enable the NEAR Intents and THORChain providers to add TRON as a source/destination chain.
  3. End-users can swap TRX or USDT on TRON directly into Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and more.
  4. SwapKit’s router automatically surfaces the best provider path — with failover if conditions change.

TRON’s Fee System Explained

SwapKit simplifies TRON’s unique fee structure, but here’s how it works under the hood:

  • Bandwidth Points (BP):
    • Used for simple transfers.
    • Every account gets ~600 BP daily.
    • If quota is exceeded, TRX is burned (1 TRX ≈ 1,000 BP).
  • Energy:
    • Used for smart contract execution.
    • Acquired by freezing (staking) TRX or paying directly.
  • Examples:
    • TRX transfer (~269 bytes) = ~269 BP → free if within quota; 0.269 TRX burned if not.
    • Smart contract call ≈ 30,000 Energy.
  • Other considerations:
    • Sending to a new address costs 1 TRX activation.
    • Freezing/staking boosts both BP and Energy.

👉 SwapKit’s SDK abstracts this complexity, so developers don’t need to handle TRON’s fee system directly.

Wallets Supporting TRON at Launch

  • TronLink
  • Ledger
  • OKX Wallet
  • Bitget Wallet
  • Ctrl Wallet
  • Keystore

The Cross-Chain Future with SwapKit

The SwapKit TRON integration continues our mission to make cross-chain swaps as seamless as same-chain transfers:

  • More chains.
  • More providers.
  • Smarter routing.
  • Simpler integrations.

SwapKit is the plug-and-play cross-chain engine powering the decentralized economy.
